The Power of Réotier Water

As we all know by now – inside out hydration is key. I am not only talking about benefits in form of beautiful skin, I am talking about overall health and well-being. Dehydration will always show up on our skin first and it really is an indicator we are doing something wrong. By now everyone knows it is crucial to drink 2l (8 glasses) of water daily, but is that all we can do? There are plenty of ways to stay hydrated that aren’t water and you can read all about them here. Speaking about skin – skin foods in form of a hydrating skincare are as equally important as healthy and balanced diet. Lucky us, L’Occitane has come up with Aqua Réotier – a new line made specially to hydrate, quench thirsty skin and to protect and strengthen its natural skin barrier.

Aqua Réotier makes sure to prevent the unpleasant experience of skin dehydration with maintainig a healthy mineral composition. Since skin can’t produce minerals on its own, you need to bring those minerals in yourself, especially calcium. Calcium plays a crucial role in the skin barrier and can slow down the loss of water, while strengthening and smoothing our skin. Aqua Réotier is calcium-packed with waters from the Reotier spring in Provence and gets them to work for your skin. This hydration system combines glycerin to add moisture, hyaluronic acid to bind it, and calcium to retain moisture for longer.

Aqua Réotier consists of five amazing products, so let me be your guide and tell you a little bit more about them and share my favourites with you.

Water Gel Cleanser

Personally, I have major problem with cleansers because they tend to dry out my skin and leave it feeling uncomfortably tight and looking dull. This cleansing gel removes impurities accumulated throughout the day without drying skin, leaving it soft and comfortable. Skin is clean, revived and hydrated and skin tone looks fresh and luminous. I had no problems using this product even when I used it twice a day, so it is a big yes for me.

Fresh Moisturising Mist

You know me already if you know that I am huge admirer of my Avène Thermal water and natural face mists. Since I can’t live without thermal water, I was really excited to try this even more calcium packed skin care mist. They say it is light and fresh like water from a spring and that combines the powers of the incredibly calcium-rich Réotier water with those of hyaluronic acid to moisture the skin. I definitely wasn’t disappointed because it turns out to be everything they claim – a true source of freshness and hydration. The only thing I didn’t quite like is that my eyes were itching from it (I am used to thermal water and I wasn’t prepared for this formula). So, regarding that I would recommend to avoid getting this product into your eyes.

Since I am all about tips & tricks, here comes the new one: try to apply it before makeup to have that glow from within effect. A well, try setting your make up with it because its invisible formula helps to set makeup throughout the day and your skin will look incredibly fresh and radiant.

Moisture Prep Essence

Essence is a quite new product in Europe and I haven’t met a lot of people who have actually used it or even heard about it (except myself).  Essence is a Korean skincare product, which I am big lover of and I claim it makes such a difference. The big problem was, it is not easy to find an essence here in Croatia, so I was beyond excited when I heard L’Occitane is launching one. What is an essence actually? You can read more about it here. Shortly, essence should be an essential step of the skin care routine, gel-textured essence preps skin with a preliminary layer of moisture, boosting the hydrating properties of the following skincare products such as serums and creams. This one is enriched with Réotier water and hyaluronic acid, this moisturizing essence turns into a water-like texture to instantly refresh skin. Bursting with moisture, skin will instantly feel more plump, fresh and it will look radiant. Of course, an essence is a little extra step to add to your skincare routine but it totally makes all the difference and I would totally recommend this one because it is great and quite affordable when you compare it with the other essences on market.

Ultra Thirst-Quenching Gel

My main concern when buying and using a new moisturizer is comedogenicity and I am always nervous and waiting for my pores to be clogged. If your skin gets easily clogged and if you know what am I talking about, then this product might work for you. I haven’t noticed new comedones on my skin since I started to use this gel. Enriched with Réotier water and hyaluronic acid, this thirst-quenching, ultra-fresh gel acts like a magnet to recharge skin with water, leaving it glowing with moisture all day long. The appealing look of thousands of micro-bubbles is going to release freshness instantly, energizing and revitalizing the skin. Wrapped in a light, non-oily veil, skin is radiant and feels more plump, its natural moisture is improved. I loved this product, but I will save it for summer and warmer days because cream works just a little bit better for me in these humid and still quite cold days. This gel will work perfectly on oily skin in my opinion.

Ultra Thirst-Quenching Cream

I already mentioned how I loved the gel version of this product but I am keeping it for summer, this one was a mind blowing one as well since it is doing everything for me – it is hydrating my skin perfectly without clogging my pores whatsoever. Other thing that I really loved was the smell, it really reminded me of my beloved discontinued sea mineral cream Adrience (if anyone is familiar with it, hello my friend). It is enriched with Réotier water and hyaluronic acid, this thirst-quenching, fresh melting cream acts like a magnet to recharge skin with water, leaving it glowing with moisture and softness all day long. Softened by a silky veil, skin is refreshed and radiant, it feels plumper. Skin’s natural moisture is improved, giving it a revitalized look. I think this one will work for dry skin and for combination to oily T-zone skin.
